About Our Church
Church
We hope you join us on Sunday morning for our church service where we join together to listen to a lesson-sermon based on the teachings of the Bible. Each week, the lesson-sermon covers a different topic. Topics rotate throughout the year and include Christ Jesus, Sacrament, Love, Mind, Doctrine of Atonement, and Soul and Body, among others. In addition to the lesson-sermon, we sing hymns and listen to an inspiring soloist.
Christian Science churches have no ordained clergy. Sunday services are conducted by two readers elected by fellow church members. The pastor of all Christian Science churches is the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy— a pastor available day or night to comfort and support. The lesson-sermon consists of passages from these two books. Read more about these two books here.
Sunday Services
Sunday services are held each Sunday from 10:30am – 11:30am. As described below, child care and Sunday School are offered at the same time.
Wednesday Testimony Meetings
Every Wednesday at 7:00pm, the church holds a testimony meeting with short readings from the Bible and Science and Health and time for the attendees to offer testimonies of inspiration and healing.
Our services are offered in-person and also by Zoom and phone. For information on how to attend in-person or virtually, please visit our Events page, then navigate to the service you wish to attend. The information for joining each service can be found on the event page for each service.
Sunday School
Sunday School is provided concurrently with our church service, every Sunday morning from 10:30am-11:30am. Our Sunday School welcomes all children and young people up to the age of 20.
Our Sunday School classes are taught by caring teachers and are discussion-based. Our teachers are responsive to student questions and interests and work hard to make the spiritual lessons taught in Sunday School relevant to their students’ daily lives.
In these classes, students learn how they are cared for and protected by infinite, all-powerful, divine Love. Lessons support students’ understanding of their relationship to God, the Ten Commandments, Jesus’ teachings, and the Lord’s Prayer with its spiritual interpretation as found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
Our Sunday School Teachers are holding Sunday School in person and virtually. If you would like to participate virtually, please call our Sunday School Superintendent at 1-916-634-6539.
Child Care
Child care is provided at all our Sunday Services and Wednesday Testimony Meetings. Church members experienced with young children play with and watch over babies and toddlers while their care-givers take time to listen to church services and testimony meetings.
